The Stave

SLICE CRAFT

We are excited to announce a new partnership with a rising culinary talent from the Twin Cities to launch a fresh kitchen concept: Slice Craft. This fast-casual, pizza focused venture will take up a modular residency in Lupulin’s Big Lake taproom, offering guests a customizable, elevated dining experience centered on high-quality ingredients and personal pizzas.

Developed through close collaboration between Lupulin’s leadership and the Slice Craft culinary team, the kitchen will bring a new level of creativity and accessibility to taproom dining. From artisan focaccia-style crusts to a range of chef-curated and build-your-own toppings, Slice Craft will offer fast, affordable, and imaginative food that pairs perfectly with Lupulin’s craft beer and cannabis brews.

Slice Craft will begin its residency at the Big Lake taproom within the next year. Stay tuned for more details!

Q: Why can’t I bring my dog into The Stave anymore?

A: We love your four-legged drinking buddies. Seriously, we do. But The Stave is getting a kitchen, and that changes things. Once food prep starts, health codes kick in. The Minnesota Department of Health says no pets where food is made. Service animals are still welcome.

Q: A kitchen? What kind of restaurant are we talking about?

A: Fast-casual and pizza-focused. Slice Craft is all about personal pizzas made with high-quality ingredients and customizable toppings. It's fresh, elevated, and still beer-friendly.

Q: What if I’m not feeling pizza but still want something to eat?

A: Bring your own food or order from other great spots in town. We’ll also keep food trucks rolling through. Slice Craft just gives you one more consistent, tasty option while you hang out here.

Q: When does all this start?

A: If everything lines up with permits, construction could begin as early as July 2025. Things might look a little different in The Stave, but the beer stays cold.

Q: When can I try this pizza?

A: We’re aiming for early 2026. That depends on how fast construction wraps up. We’ll be sharing updates along the way so you’ll know when the ovens are hot.

Q: Will the Stave and taproom be separate now?

A: Sort of. Pets won’t be allowed in The Stave as of June 15th, but you can still move freely between the spaces with your beer and food. It’s all still part of the same good time.

Q: How do I stay up to date and in the know on how the project is going and what will be on the menu?

A: Easy. Follow us on social — Facebook and Instagram are where we post behind-the-scenes stuff, updates, and sneak peeks. If you want to be the first to get the skinny and maybe score an invite to private menu tastings or test runs, hop on our email list below.

TLDR:

We’re building something new that we think you’re going to love. Supporting what’s inside these walls helps keep it all going strong. Thanks for sticking with us, and get ready for some seriously good pizza.
